CSKA ARENA

Located in the Khoroshyovsky District along Leningradsky Avenue, the CSKA Multifunctional Complex is conceived as a large-scale urban sports hub on the north-west axis of Moscow. The masterplan brings together the main ice arena, a training and accommodation complex, ticketing facilities, and technical infrastructure, forming an integrated campus capable of hosting both national and international events.

At the core of the development is the multifunctional arena, designed with a seating capacity of 10,000 spectators in its primary ice hockey configuration. Envisioned as a highly adaptable venue, the arena accommodates a wide range of uses including basketball, volleyball, handball, tennis, concerts, and large-scale public events. The spatial organization is structured around a clear separation of operational, public, and VIP flows, ensuring efficient circulation and high standards of comfort and security. Layered concourse systems, hospitality areas, lounges, and suites are distributed across multiple levels, creating a comprehensive spectator experience while maintaining direct connections to the main playing bowl.

Complementing the main arena, the training complex combines professional and youth development facilities with on-site accommodation. The building integrates two ice rinks—one with spectator capacity and a secondary training rink—alongside dedicated zones for multiple teams, support spaces, and sports medicine facilities. Residential units for athletes, coaches, and students are organized vertically above a shared podium, establishing a compact and efficient relationship between training, living, and recovery functions.

The ticket office and technical buildings are strategically positioned within the masterplan to support the overall operation of the complex. A media façade integrated into the ticketing structure enhances the project’s urban presence, transforming it into an active communication interface along the avenue.
